About Doug...
Doug Huls grew up in Iowa and attended 2 years of college at Iowa State University. In 1985, he moved to Texas to follow his dream of becoming a horse trainer, working for well known champion trainers, Tom Chown, Steve Heckaman, and Cleve Wells. In 1990, he moved on to Arizona and has since consistently trained and coached multiple amateurs and youths to World Championships, Congress Championships, Congress All Around Youth and Reserve All Around Youth titles and National High Point Titles.
A proven all around champion trainer in the show ring, Doug has trained multiple World Champions in Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Western
Riding, Western Horsemanship, Trail, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Working Hunter, Hunter Hack and Pleasure Driving.
Doug is an AQHA and NSBA judge and has given clinics in Europe and Australia. He and his wife, trainer Stacy Huls, live and train in Phoenix, Arizona. Doug has have two daughters, Cheney and Olivia.
